These miniature bears cause some of the worst damage I've seen in attics, crawlspaces, and basements.
They are generally mild-tempered and skittish of humans, but most likely, they will NOT interact with pets very well. They have poor eyesight but have a very keen sense of smell. They also have an impressive ability to sense airflow, often leading them to a crawlspace, attic, under a deck porch, etc. A pregnant female generally gives birth from mid-spring through the summer. She will often be destructive while trying to access a space to have her litter. Once a litter is born, the female can aggressively protect her young.
Raccoons can produce a latrine around the property, which is highly recommended to be removed.
Raccoon feces are toxic to humans and can carry a specific type of roundworm. Like many animals, there is not a one-size-fits-all method, but depending on the situation, I have a variety of methods to safely exclude them.
